Danner's Groundbreaking in Pasadena

Danner’s Inc. Relocates to Pasadena

Crews Officially Broke Ground Jan. 31

HOUSTON – Feb. 11, 2019 — Danner’s, Inc., is preparing to take its next major step in providing top-notch security and maritime services. The company is moving its headquarters from the east side of Houston, where it has operated since 1939, to Pasadena — and expanding its ability to watch, transport, store and protect.

A groundbreaking celebration happened Thursday, Jan. 31, at the new location, 3551 Pasadena Blvd.  President Brad Maxcey said the event will be a milestone for the company. “We’ve been on the east side for 80 years and in our current building since 1989,” he said. “This is a big move for us.”

In the past few decades, the need for security on land and by the sea has increased, Maxcey explained. “We’ve outgrown our offices,” he said. When he started in the family business in 2002, there were seven employees in the building. Now there are 88.

The new facility will be state-of-the-art, as well, with a new fiber network, servers, and equipment. The building is also equipped with gas generators. “In the event of a storm, we’ll still be open 24-7, no matter what — rain, sleet or snow,” Maxcey said. The facility will be situated on 4 acres, and crews have already started preparing the land for construction.  Maxcey said the new location is convenient to major roadways like Highway 225, Interstate 10, Beltway 8 and Interstate 45.  “It’s right in the center of the Ship Channel, which is great for our maritime customers,” he added. “Companies in need of security around Pasadena will have it right in their own backyard.” The company is able to serve the entire Gulf region with its maritime services — and beyond for general security needs.

Maxcey represents the fourth generation of the family-owned business. His great-grandfather D.D. Danner founded the business and built what is now a long-standing reputation of meeting and exceeding the service needs of clients.

Danner’s presence expanded in the late 1980s with branches in Port Arthur and Freeport. In the early 2000s, the heightened demand for experienced maritime security personnel and new requirements from Homeland Security led to further business growth. In 2006, Danner’s extended security services more by offering live video monitoring and a year later, the company added mobile camera monitoring trailers and pole/wall mounted monitoring systems.

By 2012, Danner’s gained a competitive edge with its proprietary hardware and software solutions with improved detection capabilities. “Security is necessary for everyone today and our focus has always been on providing our customers with the most cost-effective solutions we can find,” Maxcey said. “We have a dedicated staff and a history of serving our clients’ needs beyond their expectations.”
